On December 14th 2010 the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism – Mr. Traycho Traykov opened the first stage of the biggest PV project in Bulgaria. It is built in Samovodene by the Korean company SDN and 70% of the project is financed by the Korean Development Bank.
Part of the groundbreaking ceremony for the Samovodene project was a ribbon cutting of the first stage of the park with capacity MW 6,25. . This is the largest korean investment in Bulgaria so far – an investment estimated at BGN150 million .
A day before, the Korean company delivered a check worth BGN 1 million to the Bulgarian government. The donation was symbolically accepted by the Prime-minister of Bulgaria – Mr. Boyko Borissov. The sum will be distributed among projects, connected to energy efficiency.
